Springtime in Cape George
It's almost time. The ice is out of the bay, the Mini-Trail Community Centre auction is over, the lobster boats will be hitting the water within a week, and my house is awash with emerging seedlings looking for a garden to thrive in.
And so it begins . . . Rose Cottage Garden is entering its second year of full operation and will have a limited selection of seasonal fruits and vegetables available by late May (assuming it doesn't snow again)!
Watch your mailbox this coming week for the 2013 Rose Cottage Garden brochure and take note that this year several new convenient shopping options have been added so that I may better meet the needs of the community. Not only are you able to shop on Saturday mornings throughout the season, but you can also place your orders via e-mail at the following address: rosecottagegarden@gmail.com or by telephone (867-1587).
If you live between Cribbons Point Road and Georgeville and are unable to come by for your order for whatever reason, I will be happy to deliver it to you at the end of the day. Available produce and prices will be posted on this blog every Thursday (prices valid for seven days), and deliveries can be made any evening of the week (after 6:00 p.m.) Or you could just stop by and if my vehicle is in the driveway I'd be happy to go down to the garden and pick what you need while you wait.
So watch this space, and know that I am committed to providing my customers with the best possible garden-fresh vegetables, grown in adherence to the best organic practices. We are what we eat, and life is too short to waste it eating poorly.

Thank You.
I've had a wonderful year and I hope you have too. However, it's time to put the garden to bed, so Rose Cottage Garden has gone into semi-hibernation until spring.
However, if you need fresh carrots, white-fleshed sweet potatoes, chard, parsley, garlic, kohlrabi, pickled beets, grape jelly, bread & butter pickles or zucchini mustard relish over the next few weeks please give me a call (I'm in the phone book) and I'll be happy to fill your order.
Thank you for supporting Rose Cottage Garden and for helping to make my small enterprise a success. Look for the colourful blue sign at the side of the road next spring when once again I'll be ready to provide most of your fresh produce needs, organically grown, at excellent prices.
Have a safe and healthy winter.
